Cassandra Kabat
6th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Kabat was raised in Wisconsin and moved to Indiana when she was 14 years old. She attended Butler University where she graduated with a degree in Religious Studies. Upon graduation, Mrs. Kabat took a year off to ride and train barrel horses prior to attending law school at Indiana School of Law – Indianapolis. After law school, Mrs. Kabat moved to Oklahoma to join her husband at Fort Sill where she became a bar certified attorney in the state of Oklahoma. Shortly thereafter, Mrs. Kabat moved with her husband to Germany. As an army spouse, Mrs. Kabat has traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe. During her first move to Germany, Mrs. Kabat began substitute teaching at the high school level, during which time she discovered a passion for connecting with students and creating an environment that facilitated a love of learning. To meet the educational needs of her two children while living abroad, Mrs. Kabat later became a home educator over the course of two years, extensively researching curriculums, learning styles, teaching philosophies, growth mindset as it impacts learning and performance, and physical development of children. Her experience both in the classroom and at home cultivated a passion and drive to become an educator. Mrs. Kabat is a proud army spouse and mom of two boys. In her free time, she likes to play board games, go hiking, and enjoy a good book or movie. Mrs. Kabat loves to travel and has been fortunate to experience cultures throughout the world, including India, China, South America and much of Europe. She is excited to bring her varied life experiences to the classroom and feels privileged to be a teacher at Lawton Academy.
