Lauren Coody
1st Grade Teacher
Lauren Coody is a proud local who graduated from Eisenhower High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Cameron University, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Family Science.
Before having children of her own, Mrs. Coody gained experience working with children through nannying, coaching youth sports, and volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care. For the past 14 years, she has been employed at Anderson Pharmacy & Accents, where she developed strong ties to the community and a love for helping others.
Her passion for teaching truly ignited after becoming a mother. Watching her own children learn and grow sparked a deep appreciation for how children explore the world. She believes that all children have an innate desire to learn and finds joy in helping them discover their potential.
In the classroom, Mrs. Coody aims to create a welcoming, engaging environment while sharing her love for reading and writing with her students. She hopes to utilize her background in pharmacy to encourage curiosity and mold empirical-thinking, science-loving little brains.
In her free time, she enjoys reading a good book and spending time outdoors with her husband, her two daughters and their dog, Max. Mrs. Coody is honored to be a part of the LAAS team and looks forward to a fun year of learning and growth.
